Research agenda

Five themes. One question: where does responsibility disappear?

This agenda connects public signals with the foundation’s research questions. Not every dossier becomes a publication and not every signal proves a pattern. Each theme therefore shows which layer exists and which next step is responsible.

Fixed research stages

A status prevents claims that outrun the evidence.

We use the labels below consistently across themes, projects and publications.

Process coordination and process gaps

Where does a pathway lose ownership when several organisations each perform one part?

Public layer

Recognition of handover problems, desk-to-desk pathways and coordination without authority.

Foundation research question

Can a stalled pathway be reconstructed safely, transparently and reproducibly before claims are made about prevalence, harm or solutions?

02

Medication, dependence and tapering

Who safeguards not only the start of medication, but also review, guidance and a safe way back?

Public layer

Accessible information and themed projects, currently strongest in Dutch with an English oxycodone platform.

Foundation research question

Where does responsibility shift or disappear between prescribing, long-term use, tapering care and alternative or illicit routes?

03
SignalsPublic dossiers

Diagnostic delay

When is late recognition condition-specific, and when might it indicate a recurring process pattern?

Public layer

Dossiers on ACNES, ADHD and gastric-bypass aftercare show different routes towards late recognition or fragmented follow-up.

Foundation research direction

First define comparable concepts and process moments. The foundation does not yet have a formal research proposal or publication for this theme.

04
Research question

Health data and data coordination

Available data is not yet a shared overview. An overview is not yet authority to act.

Public layer

The current detailed PGO explainer is available in Dutch. The English site does not claim an equivalent resource that has not yet been produced.

Foundation research direction

Investigate which information is needed to reconstruct a pathway, who may lawfully combine it and which blind spots remain.

05
Active projectSignal theme

Human dignity and system logic

What happens when administrative correctness becomes more important than the outcome for the person behind the file?

Public layer

I am not a number makes the human consequences of registration, standardisation and desk logic visible.

Foundation research direction

Develop bounded indicators for human consequences without automatically labelling every negative experience as a system effect.

Help build the evidence base

Critique, methods and counter-evidence are welcome.

For this agenda we need more than supporters: researchers, privacy specialists, people with lived experience and potential pilot partners who can challenge assumptions.
